It has been such a fun summer and fall season with lots of senior portraits!! I have loved growing this side of my business more this year and getting to meet all of my amazing seniors like Kaitlin! Kaitlin found me on Instagram and I have been so excited for her session ever since she booked! She is a senior at Deep Run High School in Richmond and was looking for a location outside of that area to do something a little different than what people near her were doing. I’ve shot at Swannanoa probably twenty times or more but it is always my favorite place to take people who haven’t been so we decided on that! It’s a huge run-down mansion in Afton and I’ve been going there since I was about ten years old. It’s crazy how much it has changed since I first started visiting when I was younger and sadly it hasn’t been taken care of very well but that doesn’t matter for photos — it’s always a fun backdrop no matter what! Although I always shoot in some of the same spots when I go, I find that it looks a little different every time I go and that’s really fun for me! I loved showing Kaitlin and her mom around the property on this gorgeous fall day we had for pictures!!

Kaitlin is seriously one of the most stylish people I’ve ever photographed so when she showed up with her adorable fall outfits, I almost squealed. I seriously had the best time photographing her and she’s so photogenic that she made my job easy! I can’t wait to see where she goes to college and if she ends up pursuing something in the medical field like she currently plans!! Kaitlin, I am so thankful you chose me to do your senior pictures!!
