Annie contacted me a couple months ago about doing her senior photos with me and because she needed them for a winter yearbook deadline, we scheduled right away. She got her hair and makeup done with Brianna and Gohar and I didn’t go to the appointment so when she showed up to Montfair in Crozet, it was a fun surprise to see how it turned out. It looked amazing!!! I usually give Brianna and Gohar basic instructions and they always take it and create magic! I loved the soft, loose braid in Annie’s hair that Brianna did for this shoot — it fit her so well. Annie said she didn’t wear much makeup normally so we wanted to do something natural with a little pop and I feel like it was exactly what we envisioned! Since I started offering hair and makeup about a year ago for senior sessions, it’s been a game changer. For seniors, it’s so great because most of the girls haven’t ever had professional hair and makeup done before nor have they been professionally photographed. I love getting to see their reactions and getting to capture them when they feel the most beautiful.

Annie and I walked all over Montfair’s property last week, swapping outfits every half hour. She even braved wearing shorts! But wait until you see her last outfit — it’s SO cute! Annie has a sweet, quiet demeanor but she was so willing to have fun with me and I loved photographing her. She is currently in boarding school in Crozet which I think is awesome and she told me she wants to be a heart surgeon. I’m always interested to know what my senior’s plans are after high school and it seems like they always have such amazing dreams. My favorite thing is getting to experience the whole journey with them, in a way.
