Guess what?! My shooting season is about to start back up and I got to kick it off with Emily and Justin’s engagement session from last week! I have known of Emily for a long time through mutual friends because she went to high school nearby but it wasn’t until I sat down with her and Justin at our initial meeting that I learned why people had always spoken so highly of her. It’s so clear why Justin fell in love with her. The two of them have one of the sweetest, most laid-back, intentional relationships I’ve ever experienced and I was looking forward to their shoot since the day they booked me.
Emily and Justin wanted to find a great outdoor location with greenery and mountain views and after calling quite a few venues, King Family offered to let us come and I knew it would be perfect. I’ve shot weddings at King Family and have done a portrait session but I’ve never had the opportunity to do an engagement session there. I love the venue because there are vines, views, a beautiful polo field, trees, and a lake! There’s so much variety and that’s what I love for an engagement shoot.
These two put up with me for two whole hours and I loved our time together. They were such naturals in front of the camera and the fact that I squealed as I looked through their photos when I got home goes to show how well they interacted together. I love that they were able to be themselves — it made their love so easy to capture. Justin and Emily, your wedding is fast-approaching and I am thrilled to be there with you and watch you commit to spend the rest of your lives together! Hope you love these photos!
