Impromptu shoots with industry friends that are just for fun always turn into some of my all time favorite shoots and this one is no exception! I shot an engagement session on Monument Avenue in Richmond back in the spring and fell in love with a specific house I found on that street, with blue shutters, peeling white paint, and wisteria everywhere! It looked like something from Europe and I could have spent the entire shoot in the driveway. I knew I couldn’t do that but I also knew I had to go back eventually for more photos.
Natalie is also a wedding photographer in Virginia and since I always love an excuse to meet new people and make new friends, I asked her if she’d be willing to put on a pretty outfit and let me shoot a few rolls on film of her! I’ve been incorporating film a little more into my work and I’m SO excited about it but you can never practice too much. So thankfully, she agreed!
I hadn’t met Natalie before the shoot but I was so excited to have a chance to hang out with her and get back to my favorite Richmond house. We did almost an entire two-hour shoot at this house, along with a few other cute spots on Monument. I have been impatiently waiting for the film scans to arrive in my email inbox and I was so thrilled when they came in earlier this week! Natalie, thanks for being such a great model!! I love these shots of you!
