Jenna and Marcus have been such amazing clients from the beginning. I could tell Jenna was laid back, trusting of me, and couldn’t wait to be walking down the aisle in her dress. I showed up to the getting ready suite at Cross Keys, where I shoot quite a few times every year, and I was ready. I felt such peace when I walked in the door and was greeted by her kind bridesmaids. I was excited because I had so much time to be creative, with them booking a ten hour collection. The morning went so smoothly! As the afternoon went on, the sky started getting darker but I felt good about the storm passing through. My weather app looked okay and I kept reassuring everyone that it would be fine. Well, my optimism proved wrong. Haha!! Five minutes into the ceremony and it was pouring like I’ve never seen before. I keep about ten umbrellas in my car and I had my second shooter run to get them before the ceremony started just in case and sure enough, we needed them! She held the umbrella over me as I continued shooting but poor Jenna and Marcus stood up there as the rain pelted them from the side. They were SUCH troopers and even laughed about it during the ceremony that they decided to continue through. By the end, everyone was drenched but a rainbow appeared, which apparently happened on Jenna’s parent’s wedding day too. When I heard that, I got chills!! Although the rain was a little downer, the rainbow was a beautiful picture of God’s love and promise. After Jenna and Marcus’s ceremony, the sun came back, they dried off, and we had the most incredible sunset!! Their portraits are some of my absolute favorites and I cannot WAIT to share their wedding with you!! I loved this day and I loved how this sweet couple handled every bump in the road. They’re the best!!
