This family means so much to me. I remember hearing Ngoc’s name from my friend Kate when I first moved to Charlottesville and how she was one of the sweetest, most caring, giving, and generous people you’d ever meet. When I finally met her, I understood immediately. She has a warmth about her and even in a crowd of people, she will make you feel so important. As I got to know her, I have been poured into and loved so well and it’s something I’m eternally grateful for in a season that certainly hasn’t been easy. So when Ngoc mentioned she wanted some photos of her family and her cute baby bump (they’re having another boy!), I jumped at the opportunity.

We had such a beautiful fall day out at Boars Head and I loved capturing Ngoc and Jason interacting with their boys. I’m not a family photographer but what I do love about capturing families when I have the chance is that I get to be very candid because I prefer capturing parents playing with their kids rather than doing posed shots over and over. The fun ones are when the kids do what they want! Haha!! So in between rewarding them with food and dealing with a couple meltdowns, I photographed them being silly. Owen and Tyler were absolutely hilarious and their precious little smiles melted my heart!
