Kathleen and her family grew up in the town over from me so our families are familiar with each other and because our towns are pretty small, we have a few mutual friends. She also grew up practically across the street from Heather‘s family, which is how they heard about me! I loved when I read on her inquiry that she knew Heather because it’s always fun for me when a potential bride finds me through a past bride. There’s automatically a trust built because they’ve seen my work already.
So when the Quillens asked me if I could come out to their farm in Lyndhurst where the wedding will be taking place to meet with them about hiring me, I was so excited! Most of the time I’m doing consultations for brides on the phone because my brides are often from out of town but Kathleen’s precious family invited me into their beautiful home and I couldn’t wait to officially meet them and Shawn, Kathleen’s fiance! I love getting to sit down face to face with people to not only get to know them and their personalities better but to show them tangible products like albums and prints! I feel like a true saleswoman. Haha!!
I’m SO happy they ended up hiring me and that I could fit their engagement session in during this busy fall!! It was SO worth it to shoot on their property this time of year because the trees were absolutely breathtaking. Their entire property is stunning and I didn’t want the shoot to end. We went everywhere from the field near their house to the dam farther out on their land and each spot was better than the last. Our time together was so fun and clearly photographing the two of them together was an easy task! They made my job easy and I have been patiently waiting to blog their shoot!! The day has finally arrived!! Meet Kathleen and Shawn, one of my 2017 couples!
