Chad just recently moved to Richmond for his job and had to leave behind his girlfriend in Florida where she is in school. The long distance hasn’t been easy but visiting each other as often as possible is something they promised to do. Chad and I were talking for a few months leading up to this big surprise and I couldn’t wait to be a part of it! Natalie flew in from Florida for what she thought was just a visit but quickly turned into a lot more. Chad picked up the ring, met me the day before for some planning, and we were all set for him to pop the question!!

I was hiding at a picnic table, trying to avoid laughing at the hilarious conversation about divorces and second marriages taking place between a bunch of older women sitting beside me. I think the funniest part was I knew Chad and Natalie were sitting even closer to them and were listening to the whole thing. Little did these women know there was about to be a proposal. HAHA! They didn’t ruin the fun, though!!

Chad took Natalie for a little walk around the venue to see some of the horses and on the way back to the table, he got down on one knee and surprised her. There were tears, which always warms my heart, and I ran out to introduce myself as the creepy person taking photos of them. 😉 After that, we spent the next hour taking some posed pictures at King Family in the most incredible light. Natalie’s joy is completely overflowing in these images and I love that. They’re both such sweethearts and I was sad when my time with them came to an end but I knew they couldn’t wait to tell their family and friends the big news!! 🙂 Natalie and Chad, I just loved getting to know you! I hope engaged life is so wonderful and that these photos help you remember one of the best days of your lives!
