My heart is so full looking back on these wedding photos. I have had the amazing honor of getting to know Kathleen and Greg throughout this process of being their wedding photographer and I truly can’t say enough good things about them. They live in NYC but Kathleen came down a few times for wedding planning and I loved that she made an effort to see me. I don’t always have the time for this type of thing but my schedule allowed me to get to know her a little better before photographing her and Greg and I think that made my time with them easy and relaxed. I feel like they represent everything I want my brand and experience to be — one of those things being Kathleen’s excitement. From the start, Kathleen was SO thrilled about her wedding day and I loved that their first phone consultation with me included Greg. I think it’s special when a bride shares in the planning with her fiancé.
Over the course of the year, I did an engagement shoot with them and I also got to do the most incredible bridal shoot with Kathleen (hopefully that’ll be coming to the blog eventually — I’m slow this time of year), so when the wedding came, I couldn’t wait. It was the most perfect fall day — in fact, it was actually a little warm, which is crazy because they got married the last weekend in October! I’m grateful for that because sometimes October is bitter cold!
I spent the morning with her and her bridesmaids at Cat Thrasher’s studio while my second shooter spent the morning with the guys and then we met up at Panorama Farm for the First Look! There were so many moments of this day that I loved, one being the First Look. Greg’s face as he saw Kathleen in her breathtaking long-sleeved gown was something I’m beyond glad I have captured, especially since Kathleen is hilarious and had convinced Greg she was wearing a pink high-low wedding dress! I had long anticipated the moment that Greg discovered that wasn’t the case. So funny!! Another favorite moment was when Kathleen surprised Greg with a geode cake during the reception since he’s a geologist. That cake was amazing!!
This sweet day is one I’ll never forget and like Kathleen said in the bridal suite on her wedding morning, “I’m sad this is coming to an end.” I’m sad too but thankful that the relationships built don’t have to end! Kathleen and Greg, thank you so much for everything! Your wedding day was perfect and my heart is about to explode finally getting to share these!
