Meaghan and Craig booked me about a year and a half in advance of their wedding and I finally got to meet them the other day at Ash Lawn Highland for their engagement session!! I don’t really do in-person consultations much anymore so usually I’m meeting couples for the first time at their engagement sessions, which just makes them so much more fun!! When I showed up, Meaghan immediately gave me a huge hug and I felt like both she and Craig were old friends. Before I started shooting, I gave my spiel to them both about how I just wanted to have fun with them and capture their true personalities and sure enough, Craig had us both cracking up within five minutes. That’s when you know it’s going to be a good shoot — when your brides can’t do their serious face because they’re laughing too hard!

I’ve never shot at Ash Lawn in the evening but it was absolutely PERFECT! I think it’s one of my favorite venues now because of how gorgeous the light was and how much variety there was! It was stunning! We honestly hit so many locations within a two hour span! The end was my favorite because we jumped the fence and went into this absolutely gorgeous field with the cows as the sun set over the mountains in the background. It was hilarious though because just as I was finishing up the shoot I said to Meaghan and Craig, “Wow, this is the first time cows haven’t started walking towards me and my clients when I’ve been in a field with them” and literally one second later this huge cow starts slowly wandering over to us and I was just trying to stay calm while speed-walking back to the fence before he got any closer! Haha!! Glad Meaghan and Craig still trust me after all the crazy things I had them do. It’s always worth it though. 🙂

I can’t believe they’re now only three months away from their October wedding! I know they’re so excited to finally be married after their long engagement and I absolutely CANNOT wait until their big day with Amore Events at Mount Ida Farm. Gonna be a good one!!
