Elopements are my new favorite thing — it’s basically a glorified engagement session or a wedding without any stress and way less planning. Haha!! Elopements have been something I’ve wanted to do more of for a long time but just haven’t had the chance to. I did a couple last year and it opened my eyes up to why photographers love them! So when I got Stephanie’s inquiry saying she and Patrick were coming to elope in the valley and they wanted me to shoot it, I knew I had to do it!I showed up to the cabin they were renting for the week excited to meet them for the first time and walked in and immediately felt like I had known them forever. Stephanie is one of the kindest souls I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting and Patrick is so down to earth and hilarious. It’s couples like Stephanie and Patrick who truly keep me doing what I’m doing. It was such a relaxing afternoon hanging out with the two of them for a few hours and getting to be the only person at their ceremony besides their officiant. That’s such an honor that I would never take for granted.
After their ceremony we drove up to the parkway and photographed their newlywed portraits at Ravens Roost, which is one of my all-time favorite overlooks. I’ve spent many evenings watching the sunset on the rock there and I always love shooting there so we had the best time climbing on the side of the mountain and taking some epic portraits! Thanks Stephanie and Patrick for being adventurous, fun, and so easy to work with!! I loved every minute of this day and I hope you love seeing a few of my favorites below!! Many more to come!!
