When I first started my wedding photography business, I was encouraged by multiple people to pick three words that I wanted to represent my brand and style of shooting. At the time, it took me days to think of even one word because as a new photographer, I really didn’t know what I wanted my work to represent. As the years have gone on, my style of shooting has changed for various reasons but for 2017, my words were: joyful, genuine, and timeless, with a heavy emphasis on joyful. I set out to capture joy in my couples in a new way this past year by incorporating new techniques and just really allowing my couples to feel at ease with me. When I think of the word JOYFUL and all of my defining words, Madeleine and Connor’s faces pop up in my mind right away.
I shared briefly about this in their engagement blog post but I truly just adore this couple and feel blessed to know them. It has been an honor to get to know them and to capture their love. I know a lot of photographers see being a wedding photographer as simply another job — a way to make money — but I pray for more than that. I love what I do and when I get to work with couples like Madeleine and Connor who are fun, personable, and really trust me, I am one happy girl. Madeleine and Connor had the most beautiful winter wedding at King Family Vineyards the weekend before Christmas and you could just tell this whole day that there was such an excitement and gratefulness between Madeleine and Connor to finally be getting married. When they finished their first look, Madeleine said, “I am never leaving you again. That was too long to be apart.” And that’s when I almost started crying. To find your soulmate like that is really such a gift and I am always inspired by my sweet couples! I’m so excited to share their day with you below! Happy scrolling!
