Walking into this engagement session, I felt like I already knew Hamza and Paula. I had talked to Hamza a few times on the phone because Paula was working long-term in another country and wasn’t able to do much wedding planning. Hamza took on the role of wedding planning until Paula just recently got back and he did such a great job!! I was so excited when they booked and I finally got to talk to Paula too! It will be easy to tell in these photos but they are two of the most fun people I’ve ever photographed. Their joy was so contagious and I couldn’t help but smile and laugh with them this entire shoot.

They came for the weekend from Washington D.C. where they work and we shot at the gorgeous Ash Lawn Highland, which is actually one of my favorite spots around here! The mountains are so pretty and I love all the quaint little cottages around the property! We walked all over, followed by our friend the cat (who I edited out of probably a quarter of these photos… haha!) and enjoyed such a gorgeous spring night! They’re getting married at Veritas Winery this fall and I can’t think of a better venue or time of year to celebrate a wedding! Paula and Hamza, I hope when you look at these photos today and forty years from now, you are reminded of your love for each other!! See you guys in seven months!
