I heard from Diana about a month ago over email and after one response back from me, she knew she wanted to book. It’s always a bit surreal when this happens and I’m always so grateful. I love when couples have confidence and assurance that I’m the right photographer for them so quickly, especially after a long winter off from shooting. Couples like Diana and Erik are reminders of the gift that this job is and make me excited to jump back into the craziness that is wedding season!

It was such a busy year last year for this introvert that I really wanted to spend a couple months stepping away from social media and from work so that I could walk into 2018 with a renewed energy and I definitely did. Diana and Erik were my first official engagement session of 2018 and I was so excited to meet them a few weeks ago at UVA, where Diana graduated a while back! Despite this winter starting off brutally cold, it has been mild ever since and we had such warm weather this day, which made the shoot feel like spring and helped me get over the fact that we’ve gotten zero snow! Haha! But anyway, I had the best time walking all over the gorgeous grounds at UVA and hitting my favorite spots, like the Rotunda and the gardens!

Diana and Erik were so fun to work with and picked up the posing so quickly that they looked like naturals after the first couple minutes! I already can’t wait to photograph them again in November when they tie the knot at the Inn At Willow Grove!
