I have been counting down the days to this shoot for months and I am so thrilled that it all came together and that I get to share it on the blog today!! This is my third year doing a senior spokesmodel program but each year, I have adjusted it and changed it to be a little bit different and hopefully a more exciting, memorable experience. I opened up applications for 2019 seniors back in the winter and I couldn’t believe how many amazing girls applied! I felt so honored that they wanted to work with me! I ended up taking on seven girls this year from a few different schools in the valley and it was so fun sending off their gifts to announce that they got in.
This year was extra fun because we got to work with Anthropologie in Charlottesville to give each girl a unique outfit and First Look Artistry did such amazing hair and makeup the morning of the shoot. I loved getting to hang out with and get to know the girls better for a few hours while everyone was getting hair and makeup done — we played a very competitive game of UNO and they recited movie scenes and YouTube videos that left me laughing so hard. They’re all hilarious and I am so grateful for each girl!
I have always loved senior portraits and there’s something about photographing a high school girl and making her feel beautiful that brings me so much joy. I know I’ve shared briefly before how hard hard high school was for me and I think that’s why I love senior pictures. It’s so easy to be overwhelmed by comparisons and schoolwork and just life in general at this age and my goal is for seniors to be reminded of their internal and external beauty through the photos I take and to be able to forget about their stresses for just a short bit! And let me tell you, these girls are true gems — they are so smart, beautiful, kind, and gifted! Braelin, Hannah Jane, Lauren, Emma, Jade, Grace, and Jess, I feel so lucky to get to call you friends and I can’t WAIT until the next time we get to hang out!! I hope you LOVE the photos!
