I’m currently sitting in the Hawaii airport about to head home from a vacation/work trip which is very bittersweet — bitter because I have to leave my favorite place but sweet because I am finally getting around to sharing this amazing session!! I booked Christina and Jonathan’s wedding that will be taking place in just a couple short months at Salamander Resort back in July of last year and we just got around to doing their engagement session a couple weeks ago so it was a long time coming. They both went to UVA in Charlottesville but now live and work up in D.C. so they picked Georgetown for their engagement session location and I was SO excited because I haven’t shot there in years! I arrived extra early to explore on this gorgeous spring day and found so many beautiful spots that I couldn’t wait to take them.
When Christina and Jonathan showed up, their joy and kindness radiated and I knew right away that they were going to be easy to photograph together. Christina and Jonathan are the type of people everyone needs as friends. They’re the type of people who make you feel so welcome and cared for within minutes of meeting them. It was so clear as I began to pose them that they’re the perfect match and it put the biggest smile on my face to watch them laugh and have fun together. We ended up shooting for a couple hours all over Georgetown and just as I finished and was saying goodbye, they invited me to dinner with them. I never feel like the time during an engagement session is enough time to get to know my couples so it was so special to have uninterrupted time to hear more about them and their wedding! I am counting down the days until their wedding in May but for now, I am so thrilled to be sharing their sweet session with you!! Here are a few of my favorites!
