Liz and Mack are friends of my current roommate McKenna and I have always heard nothing but good things about them. McKenna always said how perfect they were for each other and how sweet their relationship was. I didn’t get to witness their love for each other until their wedding day but Mack and Liz were staying at our house after a wedding they had come into town for last year and that’s when I met Mack for the first time. I was shooting a wedding that night and didn’t get back until after midnight so I felt bad arriving so late knowing Mack was sleeping on our couch but he was so kind and I immediately felt what McKenna was talking about when she spoke of them.
I didn’t get to meet Liz that trip but later met her and her precious golden retriever Henley one evening in Raleigh, North Carolina when my roommates and I were there for a concert and she was in town visiting family. Liz is one of those people who makes anyone feel like a best friend — she is so welcoming and loving. It was clear after meeting them separately that their relationship together was probably a very special one.
It wasn’t long after that Liz and Mack ended up booking me for their wedding in Connecticut. I absolutely love traveling and I obviously love my job so getting to combine those two things is a dream come true. I was SO excited to travel up to CT for the first time and capture Liz and Mack’s love for each other on their wedding day. Quickly upon arriving, I fell in love with the New Haven area and the beautiful coastal towns. I couldn’t wait to see their waterfront venue and get to shoot in such a new and inspiring location!
Also, I knew beyond the beautiful setting, it would be a meaningful and emotional wedding day because of Liz and Mack’s love for the Lord and their love for each other and it definitely was. Every moment was intentional and marriage to Liz and Mack was a serious commitment but one they’ve waited on for a very long time! The joy on both their faces the entire day was contagious to everyone around them, including me. It’s hard not to smile when two people are that excited to get married, finally live in the same town, and do life together forever.
Liz and Mack, I truly feel so blessed that McKenna connected us and I got to work with you all!! You guys feel more like friends than clients, which I love, and I’m SO excited to share a sneak peek at your wedding photos today!!
