I’ve officially hit the age where all my friends are getting engaged and it has been an absolute blessing to get to be a part of these intimate moments.

Liz and Ben are both in my community group and I’ve gotten to watch their relationship grow over the past year. I remember at our community group retreat last winter, Liz and Ben went on a couple walks alone together and our whole group was trying to figure out what was up. They hadn’t officially told anyone they had been dating because they wanted to be sure before announcing.

But by the end of the retreat, we all knew there was something there. I think they officially told us it was confirmed soon after and ever since, I’ve loved watching them interact, laugh together, and love each other so well.

When Ben reached out to me a few months ago to tell me he was planning to propose and wanted me there, I could barely hold it together. I had to show up to community group for another three weeks acting like I didn’t know anything. Haha!!

This beautiful and chilly winter day you’ll see below finally arrived a few weeks ago at Veritas and it’s one I will never forget. I couldn’t hear what Ben was saying or how Liz responded when he asked (she obviously said yes, though) but I teared up when I saw her response from afar. And what made it even better was Liz’s excitement when I came out from behind the tree. Haha!! It was seriously the best day! Liz and Ben, I can’t even begin to tell you how lucky I feel to have been the ONE other person to witness this moment that will forever be etched in your memories. Thank you for having me!!
