Michelle and Austin’s wedding was my first wedding of this year and it was one I’ll never forget. I’m over a month due on blogging it but I have been so excited to get this up since the day they got married!! This wedding season is off to the BEST start because I have a lot of new venues on my schedule this year and it’s making things really fresh and inspiring. 48 Fields was the first new venue of the year for me and I loved every minute of exploring and shooting in a new space, especially with a couple like Michelle and Austin.
I first met Michelle and Austin in D.C. for their engagement session and it was bitter cold that day and we were numb for the majority of it but they kept on laughing the whole time. I knew their attitudes would be no different on their wedding day and I was right. They brought the same energy, joy, and emotion and it was such a special thing to capture. There were definitely a few moments where I had to hold back my tears myself. The first look, ceremony, and reception all had moments of really beautifully intense emotions and it filled my heart. I love when people feel free to express those emotions on wedding days. Those are the photos they’ll look back on years from now and feel like they’re right back there.
I’m so thankful for couples like Austin and Michelle who are so excited about photos, are trusting of me, and are up for anything. I pulled Austin and Michelle out a couple times for portraits and each time they were happy to come with me! That willingness allowed me to capture their love in a really genuine and organic way! So here are a few of my favorites from their spring wedding day in Leesburg this past April!
