This shoot was extra fun and special to me because this was the first time I have shot at or even been to Waterperry Farm since I got married back in November! I showed up a little before my clients to scout like I always do and as I was walking around, I got a little emotional. I have so many sweet memories attached to this gorgeous property now! It was so fun to be back, especially on such a gorgeous warm spring day! Katherine, who owns this property, does all the gardening herself and it’s truly a sight to be seen! There’s never a time when it doesn’t look immaculate.
Photographing Jill and Travis’s maternity session was definitely a highlight of last month. I hadn’t done a maternity session in a while so that made it fun but this was also the first full shoot that I did on my new Sony A7iii and Sony Zeiss 50mm 1.4! The camera truly blew me away on this shoot and I didn’t even pull out my Canon 5D Mark IV because I was obsessed with how the Sony was working. I will have to do a full review on it once I shoot a bit more with it but the eye autofocus in absolutely mind-blowing. For all my photographer followers, I can finally shoot at 1.4 without worrying about having lots of out of focus photos!
But anyway, we had the best time walking around for an hour and a half capturing this amazing time for Jill and Travis! I love celebrating motherhood and parenthood by photographing this time for couples. I know so many people regret not having their pregnancies captured when they don’t do it so I am always SO thankful to get to be a part of freezing these moments! The location of Waterperry along with Jill’s gorgeous gowns was the perfect recipe for an amazing shoot! I hope you enjoy scrolling through a few of my favorites!
