Shooting this Cavalier elopement at Virginia Beach was one of my favorite days. It was one of my favorites because Heather and Mark are some of my favorite people and I just couldn’t wait to be a part of this! Heather was supposed to get married in November this year at the gorgeous Keswick Vineyards but they chose to move it to next fall to hopefully allow for more of their guests to be able to join them. But they personally didn’t want to wait another year and a half to get married, which I do NOT blame them for. So they planned a super small, intimate wedding with their immediate families and it was so special!

I didn’t shoot any getting ready for this day but I showed up right before the ceremony to see Heather and Mark with the biggest smiles on their faces, so excited to get married on the beach. I hung out with Heather for a few minutes outside and took some bridal portraits of her until I got the go ahead to walk down with her. It was so fun being with just Heather before she got married. I’m usually in place at the ceremony a good while before the bride walks down but this day was so chill that I was standing outside a house beside the hotel with her waiting for a text from her future husband. Haha! While we were waiting there, a sweet lady who owned one of the houses came outside and offered us waters and asked if we wanted some champagne! It was so kind and such a fun way to start the afternoon!

I adore these two and one thing I love about Covid (which isn’t much) is that I will get to see almost all of my couples one extra time than I normally would have! Instead of having ten couples at the end of this year that I wouldn’t get to see again until we potentially planned something when they were in town, I get to see all of them again for their big weddings next year and it’s going to be a busy, crazy year but I can’t wait!! Heather and Mark, congratulations!!! I’m so happy I could be with you and your sweet families on this beautiful day!
