I came into 2020 as a newly married woman with a way better understanding of what it’s like being in a bride’s shoes and a new excitement to capture all the weddings I had on my calendar this year. I felt like I had better eyes to see priceless moments on weddings days and honestly just had a different type of appreciation for my job in general. When Covid hit and I wasn’t able to capture weddings for almost nine months, all of that was just magnified when I finally got to shoot again. I shared a little about this last night on my Instagram but I really think that after such a challenging time, God put specific couples and families in my life this year. I feel so grateful for my clients and they all have touched me in such a sweet way. They have treated me like family and honestly just reminded me of what a gift it is to be a part of weddings and to capture them. The last month has been packed with nonstop work and normally I would be getting to the point where I’m a bit tired but because of Covid, I have a new energy and joy to do what I do.
Claire and Jason’s wedding was no exception to all of that. The Wool Factory is an amazing new space in Charlottesville with a coffeeshop, restaurant, wine bar, and more. They have an incredible event space and as soon as I heard about it, I set up a tour. It wasn’t even completed at the time I saw it but Claire works there and was the one who gave me the tour. She was so kind to show me all around and I learned a little later that she was engaged and planning her wedding at the Wool Factory. She inquired about me photographing her day and I obviously jumped on the opportunity.
It was such a cool connection and Claire and Jason’s wedding day was absolutely breathtaking and so beautiful in every way. It may have been a bit of a rainy day but I feel like it couldn’t have been more gorgeous. Claire and Jason have such a beautiful relationship and capturing their love for each other was inspiring. They had to cut down their guest list quite a bit but they were just happy to be getting married. Their amazing families were so kind and supportive and I just felt on cloud nine getting to photograph their day at this amazing new venue. Honestly, I could go on and on but I feel like the images will speak for themselves so here’s a sneak peek at some of my favorites from their wedding a few weeks ago!
