Who is ready for a super fun, Christmasy couple’s session at 12 Ridges Vineyard?! I always love shooting this time of year because it just feels magical. There’s something about November and December with Thanksgiving and Christmas that puts me in the happiest mood. I’m not a big fan of winter but knowing I get to decorate the house, buy presents, and just hunker down a bit is so enjoyable.
I photographed Ansley and Blaine last year for the first time and we had so much fun at Pharsalia. I was so excited when Ansley reached back out to me again this year. These two are so joyful and I love photographing them. This year we switched it up and shot at 12 Ridges which made me so happy because they have a Christmas tree farm and since some of these were for their Christmas card, I knew it would be PERFECT. We started at the bottom at the farm and then ended at the top of the hill for sunset and if you’ve ever been here, you know it’s literally one of the most INCREDIBLE views! The first time I went this past spring, I was completely blown away.
The images we took at the top of the hill at sunset are some of my favorites from this year. I don’t know if you’ll be able to tell but it was unbelievably windy during their session, to the point where we could barely talk because it was blowing in our ears and was so loud. Haha. It was a little nuts but looking at their photos, it just looks magical to me now which is always the goal!!
Also, it’s so funny because Sam and I went with two of our best friends to 12 Ridges a couple weeks after this shoot to look for a Christmas tree and almost all the trees in the background of these first photos were chopped down. It was wild seeing it looking so differently just a short while after. I’m so glad we went for these photos when we did because Sam and I didn’t find a tree because it was so picked over. Haha. But it couldn’t have been the more perfect backdrop for this shoot. I hope you all enjoy!
