If you saw my previous blog post, I had two proposals two weekends in a row this past fall and both of the guys were named Michael. Haha!! I kept talking about them with my husband and he couldn’t keep up. Both were unique and so much fun. I feel like I usually shoot proposals at King Family, Veritas, or Pippin Hill but I loved switching it up and getting to shoot this Barboursville Vineyards proposal. I hadn’t shot there since a wedding I did many moons ago so because of that, I met up with Michael earlier that week to mark out where he would pop the question. We decided the ruins would be the coolest spot!
The day of, they had such beautiful weather and I waited behind the bushes you’ll see in the first frame until Michael and Mackenzie popped out. Mackenzie was SO shocked which I loved. She had no idea this was coming and I could just hear her freaking out right after it happened! Her joy was so contagious.
I was so glad I got to do about thirty minutes of portraits of these two lovebirds afterwards because they were so fun to hang out with! Michael and Mackenzie are such sweethearts and our time together made my day! There’s nothing quite like capturing that newly engaged joy. It always puts a smile on my face and reminds me of what that day was like for me!! It just doesn’t even feel real and the only thing reminding you that it actually is real is the ring on your finger. Haha! I am so excited to share some of their photos with you today and I hope you enjoy!! Congratulations Michael and Mackenzie! I hope engaged life is treating you guys well!
