Every time I do a maternity or family session, I realize I need to shoot more of them!! Capturing maternity, families, and babies is so special! I truly want every single person to be able to have these moments captured in a beautiful, timeless way. While shooting maternity photos, I can’t help but think of that moment when the baby makes his or her entrance into the world. The couple’s lives are immediately changed forever. I haven’t experienced this myself but I hear that moment is truly the most memorable, emotional moment you’ll experience.

I traveled up to Northern Virginia for Meghan and Chris’s maternity session this past weekend and we had the best time. They just moved into their gorgeous new home in McLean about a year ago. Now they’re preparing to welcome this precious life into the world in just a couple short months. So many things to celebrate. Meghan actually hired me to do a mini shoot with them back in December and we had planned to just take a couple baby announcement photos but because of Covid, their shoot got pushed back to March and by this time, she was clearly showing! So we just turned it into a maternity shoot. We took the first set of these photos in their front yard and had the most glorious light and then drove over to a park nearby for the last bit where the sunset was showing off.

These photos bring me hope because I see color returning to the trees and warmth in the light. Spring is here, you guys! This was my first shoot in a while so I am so thankful to get to show off Meghan and Chris to you! Capturing such precious memories for them brought me so much joy!!
