I am so excited to share this sweet maternity session on the blog today. I first met Ali through the wedding industry because she is also a photographer. While we haven’t had a ton of time together in person, she’s truly one of the kindest people. We also have always bonded over our mutual love for Hawaii. She and her husband Chad have visited Hawaii almost a dozen times in the last ten years! So impressive!

Ali and Chad have been on a journey over the last 5 years to get pregnant. The road has not been easy but they found out not too long ago that they were pregnant! Praise God! But then they had an ultrasound that showed their sweet girl Hana had a growth on her tailbone. It’s called a Sacrococcygeal Teratoma (SCT).

Back when I first heard this news on Ali’s post, I was heartbroken. I immediately started praying for them and baby Hana and have just had their family on my heart a lot.

Well, I got a text from Ali a couple weeks ago asking if there was any chance I could fit them in for a maternity session as soon as possible. I almost started crying because it meant so much that she trusted me of all her photographer friends to take photos of them in this season. I found a day right away and we had the most magical session last week celebrating Hana’s sweet life. I’m so grateful I got to take these!

A lot of things are unknown for them right now so please be praying for Ali, Chad, and for Hana. They are about to move closer to the hospital they’ve been going to in Baltimore because Hana will most likely have to have surgery after delivery. Pray for healing and for the growth to completely stop growing or at least to slow way down. Pray for Ali and Chad as they navigate this incredibly challenging unknown and just that God’s hand would be on them through every part of this.
