This rainy day Oahu Hawaii lifestyle photoshoot with Sterling Spencer and his family was one of the most inspiring, fun shoots I’ve done in a long time. My husband Sam had a project to capture some at home video shots of their family for a little feature piece for STAB and I came along just to grab some behind the scenes. We ended up having a super chill morning and what I love most about these is that they are so unposed. We did give them some direction but the photos feel natural and real. And I love getting a peak inside someone else’s life — it feels more personal.
After doing this shoot, I have been so inspired to capture people doing more of what they love together. It could be cooking together, riding bikes, skateboarding, playing music, etc. I don’t think the entire shoot would have to be at home or even including props but it would definitely add a fun element and be something different! Sometimes slowing down and just focusing on getting less, more intentional shots is so refreshing. If that sounds fun to you and you have been on the fence about booking, reach out to me and let’s dream up something fun!
I hope you guys enjoy this little peak at the Spencer’s cute little beach bungalow, where they stayed this past winter on Oahu. They had quite the view of the ocean and their walk to the water was approximately thirty seconds. We’re excited for them to come back this upcoming winter so we can hopefully get to know them better because we so enjoyed our time with them!! Sterling and Amanda, thanks for inviting us into your home to capture these!! It was so fun!
