I had the pleasure of capturing Sara and Mike’s gorgeous elopement back in March and it was one of my favorite days! I love elopements SOOOO much and this one especially was extremely sweet. Sara and Mike both have their own kids so they’re a blended family. It was so beautiful seeing their kids help them get ready and be a part of the day. Sara and Mike were quite possibly the most laid back couple I’ve ever worked with. It made the day feel so easy and I really just felt like their friends by the end.

We seriously had the most gorgeous day I have ever seen on this beach! The couples photos we took at sunset are some of my all time favorites. It was absolute chaos getting those shots but you’d never know! Haha! The waves at this beach are often powerful shore break waves like they were this day. There was a little pool that had formed from the water washing up over this mound of sand.

Well, I put them on the mound of sand but the waves kept coming up. Sara and Mike were cracking up while simultaneously trying not to get washed away at sea. I obviously told them they could move if they wanted but they had so much fun with it. Because they were down for getting wet and just wanted to have fun, I captured an all time new favorite photo! You’ll see it below but it’s the wide shot of Mike holding Sara’s dress and the waves crashing behind them.

If I had it my way, I would shoot elopements all the time!! Because I took a little break to have Raleigh, I haven’t pushed my wedding/elopement work as much lately but I really miss it and I’m dying to shoot more small, intimate weddings and elopements! They’re the BEST! Sara and Mike, you two are a joy! I’m so happy for you and I hope married life is just as fun every day as your wedding was.
