This absolutely stunning vow renewal from a while back at Ko Olina might be one of my favorite shoots of all time. I have been looking forward to sharing it for a year or more now. Danielle and Michael have two adorable young kids and they were celebrating ten years of marriage on their trip to Oahu. They decided to do a vow renewal with their family and their children while they were visiting and it truly was the most precious thing I’ve witnessed in a long time.

Hearing the words they spoke to each other and to their kids was the sweetest thing to watch and capture. I absolutely LOVE the idea of a ten year vow renewal. Marriage is wild and you grow so much being married and having kids and it only makes sense to renew those vows. To be honest, after six years of marriage, vows feel different than when I first got married. When you first get married you don’t really know what you’re promising but after many years together, they start to make more sense and mean a lot more. They carry more weight. And to have your kids see you recommit to each other is probably the most powerful thing!

It was so encouraging to see this kind, loving couple thriving with their adorable family and while this was such a simple setup and ceremony, it was perfect. I loved every second of it and I hope to do way more vow renewals in the future!
