I’m so excited to have another associate wedding by the wonderful Sarah up on the blog today!! If I remember correctly, I actually think the one I blogged yesterday and this one happened on the same day and our team divided and conquered these two beautiful weddings! Katie and Ryan’s day took place at the gorgeous, rustic Mount Ida and yet again, this post is making me miss Virginia! I look back on my time capturing weddings for 10+ years in Virginia with such fondness. I got to do what I love for almost half my life and it was such a special season of my life. I was living with my two best friends, I was single with more time than I knew what to do with, and life was full of so much ambition and drive. So whenever we have a Virginia associate wedding, I’m always brought back to those days.

For those of you who don’t know, I started shooting weddings when I was about 18 years old so I started my business very young and I loved every second of it. I still do. It was all a dream come true. And these are the venues I shot at for years and years so I have lots of memories and moments at all of them!

It was so special for our team to capture this beautiful day! I actually never got to meet Katie and Ryan but I feel like I know them by going through their photos which is so cool. I can tell they have such a tender, sweet love for one another and Sarah captured that so well. One thing that is super cool about their day is that Ryan and his dad actually played a song or two with the band during the reception. You’ll see a couple of those shots at the end. I just thought that was such a sweet moment they got to share together and you can tell the crowd was loving it!

The rest of their day was so classic and lovely. They made Mount Ida look so pretty and I’m especially obsessed with all their couples portraits! Sarah picked such fun spots and the roses and soft lighting was showing off. This day really is so sweet! I hope you enjoy!
