Jennifer and Elijah were the most precious couple and their kids were so well behaved and adorable!! I absolutely love this location at sunset, especially this time of year. The sun hits so beautifully and really shows off those mountains!! We had a gorgeous day and this family was such a blast. I can always tell when I show up and a family really trusts my vision and I felt that way for this shoot. It always puts me at ease knowing if I ask something a little different, they’ll be down for it!

They snuggled, tickled, played, and even jumped in the water for a few at the end. We could barely keep the boys out so by the time the sun started setting, I said, “Let’s go splash in the water!” A couple of the waves were a bit powerful so it made for some funny shots at the end which I loved!

I could have chatted with Jennifer and Elijah all day but at the end of the shoot as we were walking back to the cars, Elijah said something that almost made my cry. I was pregnant so I think I mentioned being nervous to have a kid or something along those lines. Elijah said, “People will tell you kids are the worst but you actually don’t know what you’d do without them.” Until I had Raleigh, to be totally transparent, being a mom scared me! I felt unequipped and didn’t know how I’d handle having my time taken from me in a way. But wow, Elijah couldn’t have been more spot on.

Having your own children is beyond special. It’s magical, beautiful, and full of joy!!
