Since I’ve photographed this session you’ll see below, Brittany has had her baby AND been back to Hawaii for another photoshoot with me! Haha!! One day I’ll get around to sharing round two with them but this session was next on my list and it’s one for the books!! Sometimes I have a session where I truly feel like everything went perfectly and I have so many favorite images that I don’t even know how to cull. This was one of those shoots!
The Bade family is not only stunning but they were so easy going and natural to photograph. Brittany and Ryan were the type of parents who didn’t stress when their kids weren’t behaving perfectly but they turned it into something beautiful. I think the biggest advice I have for parents is just that — your kids aren’t going to sit perfectly still and they’re not going to listen to everything you ask but if you choose to play with them, snuggle them, move with them, and go with their energy, it’ll work out great!
If they want to run through a field, do it! If they want to be thrown in the air, do it! If they want to hold a rock or a leaf, let them. It’s easy to overthink family photos and want everyone looking at the camera the whole time but that’s unrealistic. If you want an idea of what a session looks like when you work with your kids, this is a great example! You’ll notice little Andrew holding a rock in some of the shots, you’ll notice they are walking and moving a lot to keep them engaged, and you’ll notice Annabelle and Andrew aren’t even looking in a few of them.
I am seriously so excited to have this gorgeous family on the blog today and I hope you love these shots and they leave you inspired to do your own photos, whether it’s with me or someone else! Happy Wednesday everybody!
