This might be the first ever family shoot I’ve shared where there are no kids and just adults! This large extended family was on Oahu for a conference and left the kids at home! It was super fun to just work with a group of adults and definitely made things easy! Haha! I’m not sure I’ve ever seen more perfect lighting at Ko Olina so I just had to blog this one! That west side light is always great but this night it was especially good!
I almost never blog my extended family sessions but I shoot them ALL the time. Honestly, more than 50% of my families are extended groups. It is really beautiful though when large groups travel out to Hawaii together. I know the kids weren’t here for this specific one but when families are making memories with kids, parents, and grandparents all together, it’s just so beautiful. I remember back to our simple beach vacations growing up once a year with my aunt and grandparents and I have the fondest memories. I hope one day when I’m a grandparent that we can plan big trips with all our kids and grandkids. That sounds like an absolute dream!!
Anyway, this was a simple shoot but I couldn’t get over the adorable couples and gorgeous lighting so I had to make sure it made it to the blog! Hope you enjoy scrolling through a few of my favorites from this thirty minute mini session!
